General Environmental could be the title for a group which are jack-of-all-trades and masters of none. In most instances this couldn't be further from the truth, these are the groups most likely to be known outside circles of environmental interest. If
you want to get involved in environmental campaigning and don't
know where to start this is the place. Groups like Friends of the
Earth, Greenpeace and WWF have been doing it for years. They are
fantastic sources of information and have great cores of support. |

| The Greenpeace mission statement says " Greenpeace is an independent non-profit global campaigning organization that uses non-violent, creative confrontation to expose global environmental problems and their causes. We research the solutions and alternatives to help provide a path for a green and peaceful future." I for one wouldn't, couldn't argue with that! |

| Campaign to Protect Rural England |
![]() We are the champions of England's countryside and we welcome the support of all who care about it. CPRE is a registered charity with over 60,000 members and supporters living in our cities, towns, villages and the countryside. We operate as a network with over 200 district groups, a branch in every county, a group in every region and a National Office. Over 2000 parish councils and 800 amenity societies belong to CPRE. This makes CPRE a powerful combination of effective local action and strong national campaigning. |
| Green Engage |
Green-Engage Communications seeks ways to engage people in respecting, protecting and enhancing the environment for the benefit of society as a whole. Our vision is of a society in which taking care of the environment is second nature and something that everyone wants to participate in. We believe that… People do care about the environment but often don't act on it. The barriers people face in going green are both external and internal, real and imagined. Existing communications campaigns aimed at persuading the public to go green are not effective enough. The green movement needs to adopt a new approach in communicating with the public, based on positive marketing and an understanding of how people think and act. This will involve different approaches for different people. |
