low impact living

I've been searching in vain for a definition of Low Impact Living (LIL). I suppose that everything I promote here aims to be low impact to one degree or another.

But the essence of LIL for me would ideally be shared or community living with an environmental ethos. Such is practised at the Low Impact Living Initiative (LILI) below.

In fact LILI themselves describe it thus "It is reducing human impact on the ecological systems of the planet, starting with one particular human – you." That's good enough for me.

The good thing is if there are not the facilities in your area to recycle the item you want, it gives you the email address of your local authority recycling officer.

There is also a good section on composting with a handy FAQ's.

Natural Life Network

This website is mainly the market place for John Wilson's amazing selection of books and DVD's on solar energy and low impact living. If that makes it sound mercenary then it shouldn't this website is a goldmine of information. You can also download free-of-charge John Wilson video The Solar Village from his companion site of the same name. Excellent stuff!
