| the directory transport |
|
![]() I did have the anti-SUV links with the rest of transport links, but there are such an astonishing number of groups, the only way is to give them a section all of their own. There are so many links in this section I've had to divide it up a bit. Click to jump to the section you want. There's obviously a lot of cross-over between Transport and Climate Change. If you can't find what you want here that may be a good place to look.

| ... road alert! | |
This is a bit of a strange site, because there is nothing to tell the casual viewer what it's all about. But I think it's a forum telling subscribers about road protests etc. Probably best to have a look yourself. |
|
| Road Block | |
Road Block is an alliance of groups and individuals campaigning against road-building. Road Block has launched in response to a roads programme of around 200 proposed or planned schemes throughout the UK: a scale of road building not seen since the infamous 1990s road building programme, which led to unprecedented community-based protest. Many schemes were cancelled and the new Labour government made a manifesto pledge to cut road building and traffic growth. |

| Airport Watch | |
![]() Airport watch is and I quote, 'the campaign to oppose unnecessary, unsustainable and irresponsible airport expansion across the UK' This is something I'm really concerned about. There are all sorts of arguments about transport and the use of cars, it's a complicated subject with valid points on both sides. But the way we are using air travel just isn't sustainable and we cannot carry on the way we're going, end of story. The practice of having a holiday home on the other side of Europe or even further a field is just crazy and if you can't see that, well ..... I don't know what to say. I need to come back to this one! |
